Good Alternative to Windows11

Great alternative to Windows based PC's, and more secure.
Best for checking email and general browsing, research, and Google ecosystem.
Only downside is downloads and file management is more challenging than on Windows.
It would be nice if ChromeOS supported a desktop that I could drag and drop shortcuts to, like I can on Windows.
