I resisted making this purchase because of my experience with a chest strap HRM 10 years ago. Back then I had trouble getting it to start and synch with its single purpose wrist receiver (which I had to wear in addition to my watch!) That was before GPS smartwatches, and things have certainly come a long way since then! This was very easy to pair with my watch and phone.
I do not usually need to wet the strap, and when I start a run my Garmin watch tells me it's connected and logs the HRM200 data automatically. I had been getting high HR readings, nothing crazy, but edging up 10 or 20 bpm above a couple months before. Wearing the strap tighter didn't change that. I've been using the HRM200 for a couple weeks and it is amazingly consistent, and the data are much more credible.
I have not used other current HRM but this does a great job for my needs. Easy to use, seems durable, and the strap is not uncomfortable!
Easy to clean and change the battery. Really happy with how it works with my Garmin Forerunner 935

I have been using versions of the HRM for 15+ years. This will #3 due to a prior belt or case failure. (Things just wear out over time). The prior versions seemed to disconnect randomly. Even when connecting, I wasn't always certain if it was connected. The new HRM200 version is a night and day difference. It provides notifications when connected and stays connected. The button and led provides visual feedback that it is on and working. Very happy with the HRM 200!
I am using it with a Forerunner 225. It was a bit fussy to get it set up. It has connected right away after that. It is comfortable for hour-plus runs. The only negative comment I have is the unit that connects to the band is all black and very light. Normally, those would be good features, but I dropped it once and didn’t realize it until i went back to my car and saw it on the ground.
I bought this for xc skiing because my watch was not as accurate as I wanted it to be and it's great. It took a little bit of getting used to but it's amazing I would definitely recommend it.
I bought the HRM heart rate monitor and it just won’t sync to my Garmin 530 bike monitor . Finds the heart rate monitor but just spins . Tried wetting contacts , removing battery, switching on and off both devices . Nothing just to frustrating to keep going .
