Beautiful Cutting Board

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once you start using a John Boos cutting board, you give away any other cutting board you own. They are made in the USA using northern hard rock maple. The craftmanship is wonderful. The Chop-N-Slice is 1 1/4 inches thick and a nice overall size. I've cut a watermelon on mine without worrying about keeping it on the cutting board. This cutting board is solid, it's not going to rock or scoot away while you're cutting. It is reversible, both sides are usable. Wood is also a very knife friendly cutting surface. I highly recommend getting the John Boos Cutting Board Care and Maintenance Set. It has oil, a tube of cream and an applicator. The applicator has a beautiful wood handle and makes caring for your cutting board quick and easy. You absolutely need to follow the instructions and prepare your new cutting board to help it last a lifetime. I've been oiling my board every use the first month of use. I plan on using the cream monthly. Water now beads up on the surface. I just give it a quick rinse with soapy water after use, rinse, dry, and apply a light coat of the board oil. John Boos Company has been making wood cutting boards since 1887 and it shows in their beautiful products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Professional premium quality thick, smooth cutting board. Comes with mystery oil and board cream to help maintain it. Board cream is a natural moisturizer. Mystery oil helps preserve the board. Nice hardwood board great for everyday use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice size cutting board very smooth, just have to make sure you take care of it. Use the oil rub that came with the board. They provide you with the oil and buffer. Thinking of getting it personalized.

It’s heavy enough to feel quality but light enough to move around the kitchen if you need to and not feel like it’s a brick. So far I’ve been really happy with their not being significant scarring when chopping and slicing through which is great because some of the “cheaper“ products get all hacked up really quickly.

It seems to make everything easier to cut.

Fantastic cutting board

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, I love this thing. I followed the instructions and used the oil to condition it for 24 hours before use. It’s very sturdy and cutting on it is a breeze as the weight of the board helps it not move. Soap and water wash off was easy and it still looks great. Highly recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a beautiful cutting board I almost don't use to ruin it by using it. It's quite large and pretty heavy. The quality of the wood looks very nice. The size of the board will allow you to cut many things and not have a problem with space. I also received the rub for the cutting board to seal and care for it. This is definitely a beautiful cutting board and I will get a lot of use out of it.

The surface cutting area is large enough for a large steak and thick enough that you don't have to worry about it feeling too flimsy for your best sharpest knives. I know that if you take care of such a well crafted board properly that it will last you for years to come. The fact that I also got the care kit oil also has me at an advantage to do the right thing by this beautifully made board that has just the right wood texture and smoothness to it. It also has a nice weight to it and I don't worry about it slipping off my surfaces while using it. I would highly recommend this as a great Wedding or Housewarming gift also!
