There is a small learning curve involving other family members teaching them to hold their hand steady while letting the lock read their palm. My biggest issue is how the lock will extend if the door is left open because we have a storm door to let in some daylight. If the door remains open, the lock will extend the bolt after the preset timeout. Then, a family member might try to close the door without noticing that the lock has extended, which could cause them to slam the bolt into the door frame. I want the door lock to be able to detect whether the door is closed before extending the lock bolt. Yale does this with a magnet next to the door frame. At this price point, this lock should at least be aware of whether the door is shut or open.
The lock works great on the rainy, high-humidity Oregon Coast. The palm reader works better for my family than the previous version, so I am very satisfied.
I love how easy it was to install and the website is extremely easy to navigate. The step by step instructions aided in the ease of the install. I would highly recommend this lock.
