I'd purchased one years ago when I went back to school and had a tight budget, so I opted for one that was refurbished. It did the job but lacked several features I wanted, and the monitor would sometimes just shut off and not come back on, despite the laptop being on. Because of that, I didn't really want to purchase another laptop by the same brand, so I selected Lenovo due to my spouse's good experience. This is used almost exclusively for internet searching and word processing for personal use, but it really fits the bill!
Pros:
- Good size, not too heavy
- Power button is in a clear, obvious place
- Touchscreen capability
- USB-C, USB, HDMI, and SD ports
- Number pad
- Good microphone/speakers
- Good built in webcam with a privacy shield
Cons
- Only two USB ports, so you'll likely need to get a hub
- Touchpad seems kind of unnecessarily large
- An enormous logo on the exterior
I'm very happy with this laptop thus far - I've been able to take it to multiple locations easily, and it holds power for long enough that I don't have to bring the power cord with you. It was a top priority for me that it have a number pad, but you don't end up with too small a keyboard OR too large a laptop to accommodate it. I'd recommend this for anyone who needs a good laptop for their basic, everyday use.
