Superior to my prior Edge 1030+

Been using Garmin Edge products for over twenty years. Some great improvements over my prior 1030+. Only disappointment is that it has more difficulty connecting with my Varia radars than the 1030+ which had occasional issues with the radar. Screen is superior, great for all weather and sunglasses. Wish I had a more control over which sounds made by each feature (food reminder, radar) but far superior to prior 1030+. USB C, is more convenient than micro USB of 1030+. Like some of the new data fields with average and max included. Waiting on developers to update some of my Connect IQ data fields.

Has all the features needed. The only thing missing that I have on three other Garmins is the Birdseye satellite map. Really miss this option.

Love all the features available on this device. Amazing screen with the improved colors. The only thing missing, and I’m sure that will be rectified soon, is the ability to download the Trailforks app. Will be a 5 stars once that issue is taken care of quickly.

A very nice upgrade to my Edge 1030. Improved interface, lots of new training features, USB-C charging is a huge plus. The data is easier to see while riding. The device immediately locates the satellite and pairs to my heart rate monitor, power meter, and SRAM Red AXS devices. The rides upload to Connect more quickly. Improved alerts and too many other positive attributes to enlist.

Great screen and fast

The screen is much better than the 1040 and the response time is way faster when moving through settings and options, i do not experience sensors disconnecting as i do with my 1040. Just wish i can make the bell louder.

HUGE upgrade over previous Edge units

I replaced an Edge 840 with the 1050. The new screen and UI is fantastic. Battery life is still stellar. I did an 25 mile/68min ride yesterday and the battery went from 100% down to 96%. The UI overall is better than previous units and everything is faster. Great device.

DISPLAY!!! Great job, Garmin. The display is definitely GREAT!
Design is better than 1040, in my opinion, but it's very personal.
Cons
Battery life. I have to charge it weekly instead of monthly with 1040 Solar
1050 is a slightly heavier.
Overall, it’s a great bike GPS. I will keep it.
