I had been using my Garmin D2 Mach 1 watch for the last couple years, avoiding buying a computer. It was time and I'm glad I did. This thing is bright, fast, and has more functions than I can even comprehend. It was super easy to setup, automatically transferring all my sensors and settings. There are still a few things to learn and work out, but I am highly impressed with the product. My only squawks are, for the price, it should come with a sapphire crystal screen and a case.
Similar issues on sensors auto disconnecting with no resolution. Device reset, remove and adding sensors several times doesn’t help. Annoying issue for a high end product like this isn’t acceptable
Had the 1040 for a year and only upgraded due to the brighter screen. Features are great, screen is very bright when you turn it up. Battery does not compare to the amazing 1040 but I don't mind charging it a couple times a week. Would really like to see a front light intergrated in with the unit but that is my only suggestion.
I like how it powers up quickly, the display is wonderful and easy to see, and I can arrange the screens in the order I want them. The unit quickly connects to my phone and responds quickly when I touch the screen. Overall, Garmin 1050 is a beautiful cycling computer.
I paid top dollar for the new 1050 to replace my 1030. Grade % is not working, shows 2% when I know it’s 10%. Unit is heavy and the bell is not loud enough. It’s joke. Garmin - why didn’t you test the unit with riders to identify he Grade % bug. Garmin is not a reliable company, gave up on vector power pedals, total junk:
I purchased the Edge 1050 to upgrade from my 10 year old Garmin 800 which was starting to fail. Unfortunately, the 1050 has been a problem from the start. For example, it spontaneously stops recording mid-ride, or toggles between stopping and starting dozens of times when i am not touching it. It isn't possible to turn the power off, even though that is supposed to be possible. I think Garmin tried to get too fancy with this one, and it didn't work. I have decided to return it.
Bought this two weeks ago, had a software bug so Garmin sent me a new one. This one works better but still doesn’t update Training Status. Seems petty but for the price of these I’d expect it to be better.
