1050 an improvement from 1040

Very Happy with the 1050 , an improvement from 1040 , seems little faster and screen look more clear in every circumstance , I haven’t check yet all the other functions but overall is the best gsm bike device so far I ever had , this is easy to operate and connect well with all the other bike devices like power meter and shifters , a must for every cyclist

Great display with some annoying bugs

I love the display after switching from the 1030 but some bugs are present and that makes the experience annoying especially while riding your bike. You don't want to lose time when you are on the road ready to do your workout or in the middle of a tour.

I enjoy the new look, but it comes at a cost to the battery life.
My previous 1030 plus battery lasted much longer.

Quick Response

My cycling computer journey goes from Polar, VDO, Garmin 500, 820, 1030, and to the 1050. The Edge 1050 has finally arrived near where it should be for tech and data savvy cyclists like me. It is a fully beneficial upgrade from the Edge 1030 and has features that some Edge 1040 users wish they had. The 1050's bright and clear display finally lets me read screen and data values easily in all light conditions. The processer is fast to render the display, change screens quickly, and upload courses in moments rather than minutes. I enjoy the 64 Gb memory, not having to use an additional micro SD card or deal with having two drives when connected by wire to my PC. The speaker and bell combo is a nice touch. I have used it several times, but I don't find it a game changer. A slight negative is that the position of the twist-lock mount has been moved forward slightly to balance the additional weight from a larger battery. I was not able to mount it together with my Ravemen 160 front light on my Canyon Ultimate out-front mount without running into the H11/H36 handlebar. I had to place the Ravemen on a separate mount on my handlebar in order to successfully mount the Edge 1050. I have found that running GPS, dual crank power meters, Di2, taillight radar, with automatic screen brightness for about 3.5 hours uses about 15% of the battery, which is much lower than with my 1030. I would recommend this unit to other riders.
