Great visuals, sound chimes, but syncing opty

The images are crisp and usability fast. The chimes and alarms were a pleasant surprise… much less annoying than the 1040. One opportunity remains… the syncing. In the past Strava rides and saved maps would appear almost instantaneously on my 1040. I notice a much longer delay with the 1050 to sync, and sometimes I have to manually prompt routes to save down to the device then manually sync in Garmin Connect. All that said… I still recommend as an upgrade to the 1040 if you value bright and sharp screens, and pleasant sounds.
The clarity of the 1050 is more than I expected. The radar gives you sound and color interaction with autos in the rear. The selection of type of ride easy to select for trainer rides or outdoor rides. I turned off auto battery/auto pause and sleep because I want to see my data i.e. heart rate speed distance. On auto pause when I started back on my ride after a rest stop Garmin didn't come back on.
I bought my new 1050 as an upgrade for my trusty 1030. I love the bright and colorful interface. Easy to register and transfer profiles and sensors. Only problem has been the radar seemed to disconnect more frequently from 1050
As a Randonneur I have a specific criteria for a bike computer covering rides from 200 to 1500 kilometers So here is my review Likes I like the big numbers, I’m in my 60’s so having such a large display is great. It pairs easily with everything so that’s good. Can load big route files Handles 600 kilometers no problem. Don’t like Pain in the area you sit on loading maps, just copy the wahoo system, Battery low level comes on at 35% thatsstill6 hours battery left. It also pauses the ride which is a pain as the computer is so big I have to rotate it to get at the bottom button. Not very well thought out design. I wish there was a way to unit control my radar. I set it to flash to save battery but when I stop it turns it on to full brightness all the time waisting the radar battery. Real hard to get things like control points on the map. No idea why this is so complicated For a mapping company you’re pretty rubbish at map stuff.
