Frustrating at first, but now I absolutely love it

I had issues downloading the NA map. It took a little over two hours to get it downloaded, but now that it’s done the 1050 is the cat’s meow of GPSs. It has more functions and more options than I thought when I bought it. I’m totally satisfied with the purchase and I wish I’d done it sooner. The ONLY thing about it that I don’t like is my inability to download the total mileage from my previous Garmin or edit the mileage so I can keep a running total on individual bikes.
I got the new unit a few weeks ago. And absolutely love it. I’ve had multiple Edge computers as the technology has evolved and this is top of the line.
The 1050 has a very bright display and a faster processor than previous models. The bell is very useful and sounds like a real bell. It is easy to use and setup. I've owned many Garmins and the 1050 is the best one yet.

I bought this about two weeks ago and have used it for seven rides. I'm impressed with the brightness of the display and the speed of the response. I used the Edge 1030 before and was having problems when I had to modify my training rides that I had posted 30 days in advance. Those problems no longer exist!! I love the hazard warnings. In fact, I was riding in the Grand Teton National Park just yesterday and was warned of animals in the area. This is very helpful because of the bear, moose and wolf presense almost everywhere you go in this area of Wyoming. Thank you, Garmin!!
