I disliked paying because Edge is unsupported in my country, and I did not anticipate that the start button would stop responding. Now there is no way to use the touch screen to begin the session while riding.
I have had the new Garmin Edge 1050 for about a month. Upgraded from a Garmin 1030 Plus. It was easy to setup and has worked flawlessly. The routes load easily from Ride with GPS and Garmin Connect. No issues uploading rides to Garmin Connect. Very pleased, and highly recommend.
I'm an Ultra marathoner who bikes for cross training. I used to think that My Fenix 6 gave me everything I wanted. Boy was I wrong! I didn't realize how much more the Edge gives me right in my direct line of sight! Maps with updates, turn by turn directions, next stop distances, weather, and so much more! I can't believe that for years I just rode with my watch and saw all my metrics after the ride on my laptop!
I haven’t had the chance to use it but a few times due to a health issue but so far: Is the easier to use of the 3 lower models I have It downloads my workout faster Integrated bell plus other features. Larger screen Viable from every angle under the sun Once I’m able to use it longer and able to use the gps routes I’ll write a better review.
I bought this less than a month ago, but have used it ever since and multiple times since. I absolutely love this computer. It was easy and seamless to set up and customize. It pairs quickly and stays paired. The battery is sufficient for my needs…very nice that I don’t have to charge after every few rides. And I love love love the screen.
The 1050 works well. Great graphics. Improvement over my 1030 plus. Especially in connecting to my other bike components. One criticism is that it does too many things that really aren’t needed. I have turned many of those things off. Like the notifications about potholes.
