If you are a new user of the Philips Shaver, keep in mind that your skin needs to adapt to the electric razor, allow yourself an adjustment period of two to three weeks with your new Shaver. If you have not shaved for a couple of days and have a heavy beard, it is a good idea to trim your beard before you start shaving. This technique also helps in reducing shaving time.

Disappointed. Charge does not last the week

Keeps a good charge for many shaves!

I like to use this while driving sometimes as well as for touch ups while watching the news. I will never use another brand, I'm truly sold on Phillips' products!

Average shave for electric.

Better than Expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Norelco electric shavers for more than 50 years and this model checks all of the boxes. It's quiet. It gives a close, clean shave. Battery recharging seems to occur less often--I can get 20-24 shaves per charge vs 16-18 with prior shavers. Hopefully this will continue. Another feature I like is that it requires little maintenance. Just rinse it out after each shave, shake the water off and it's clean. Many of the older models required removal of the piece holding the three blades and then re-assembling the two parts of each blade, which could be tricky, This one requires less than a minute of cleaning after each shave with no need to dis-assemble and then re-assemble the blades, which could take 5-10 minutes to get all the parts back to where they belong. The only negative I can find is it's so quiet that one time when I placed it on the base, I might have pressed the "on ' button and I found that it had completely discharged the next morning. Just make sure it's completely off when not using. All in all, I'd rate it 5 stars and highly recommend this model to those who
are looking for a quality shaver that's dependable, is smooth and non-irritating to the face and neck and requires practically no maintenance. And, BTW, you can also use it for a wet shave.

Excellent razor

The razor is truly water immersive when I shave with shaving gel/foam, and the machine does not get stuck when under water. That's unlike some of the dry and wet razors out there - they just stop working after a brief moment in the water.
It does a good job at trimming my hair on my face that can some times be at the formation stage of an obvious mustache and goatee (haven't shaved for a few days), but the razor still does wonders to trim it down.
Perhaps a higher/newer model would provide an even closer shave? But I'm happy with the job this razor is doing, where I typically wet shave anywhere from 1 day to 5+ days, and it still works beautifully.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Underpowered

The first time I turned it on after fully charging it up, I asked myself why are the blades spinning so slowly? I'm very lucky to have very little facial hair; I couldn't imagine someone using this shaver who has a thick beard. The contouring is fine but I have to go over the same spot many, many times. Luckily I'm retired so I don't have to rush off to work. I probably should have read all the reviews before purchasing this shaver.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When you charge your shaver for the first time or after a very long time, the battery begins charging slowly. To avoid causing harm to the device, the charging process is slow. During the first few hours, your shaver's charging light might not flash. Recheck the charging state after letting your razor sit for at least two hours. To charge it, try a different outlet. Make sure your razor is positioned correctly if you use the SmartClean holder to charge it.
