[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wife got a flower for Mother's day and the flower was starting to wilt. I replanted the flower in this Garden Soil and after dead heading the flower and replanting, the flower is full of life. Next I will try this soil on a couple of herbs that I need to replant. Stay turned...
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions, Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I planted tomatoes and peppers along with this Vegetable garden soil and they seem to have gotten off to a better start than in past years of just planting them in existing soil. A little hard to give final opinion on how they did but they sure do look like the plants are getting a great boost from using this soil. I can't wait to see what the final outcome is. I would recommend that you give this product a try. I works.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality, plants look healthier
Cons: none

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the entire contents of the garden soil for my Tomato patch for this summer. I have six early tomatoes that are just beginning to change from green to red. The plants are 5' tall and very lush green leaves, with a generous amount of tomatoes the size of a hamburger bun. I am very pleased with this product.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality, Value

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mixed this soil in a few areas of my garden. Already the carrot seeds are sprouting and the new Raspberry plants look like they might actually produce this season. The soil is very enriched with the nutrients needed. When it comes time to erecting another raised garden bed, I will defiantly use more of this soil than standard store brand dirt.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value, Quality

The Miracle-Gro Garden Soil for Vegetables and Herbs is the best garden soil ever! The texture and moistness of the soil surpassed any I've ever used before. My tomato plants are looking so healthy and strong. This is quite a feat considering we live in the ever-changing weather conditions of Chicago.

Serious weed contamination of the soil
on July 19, 2018

We had an experience similar to that described by a recent post from a person in Omaha.
In late winter and early spring we roto-tilled our garden beds and mixed in more than dozen or so bags of the soil (purchased from our local Lowe's). We have used this soil in the past and have not had a problem, so we were not expecting what came next: massive weed infestation.
Here's the current status.
1. For the tomatoes and peppers, it's not a big problem since we can easily recognize the weeds and get rid of them as they come up.
2. However, we also have a bed of "salad blend" lettuce (mesclun) from which we harvest some every evening for dinner; in this case the newly emerged weeds are the same size and mixed in with the salad greens so we have to be careful and pick the weed leaves out when we wash the leaves before eating (and hope that they are not toxic in case we miss one or two).
3. And we have a bed seeded with assorted wildflowers right outside the kitchen window that, in past years, has attracted lots of butterflies and hummingbirds that are nice to watch. It was a debacle this year. Unfortunately, the flower bed was the first bed we planted, well before we recognized the problem, and when the weeds came up we did not at first realize that they were not the wildflowers. By the time it dawned on us what was happening the weeds were so numerous and big that they pretty much had choked out the wildflowers. No butterflies or hummingbirds this year.

We are very sorry to hear that you had this experience with MiracleGro Garden Soil for Herbs & Vegetables. While our garden soils do initially contain weed seeds, most (but not all) are destroyed in the composting process. In addition, there are 10,000 weed seeds per cubic foot of native lawn that are brought to the surface when the soil is prepared for seeding. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please contact us to see what can be done. I tilled Miracle-Gro Garden Soil into the native soil of my vegetable garden in spring and expected a bumper crop of vegetables. But my vegetables are no different in size, appearance or flavor. I am disappointed.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
