Because of lower back pain I needed a chair that supported my spine. The Carder Mesh Office Chair fit this need perfectly. Not only does the Carder chair have the typical up/down adjustment and the back adjustment I can also move the lumbar support to fit my spine in the exact place I need the support. The Carder chair also tilts forward if needed and the arm rests also adjust up and down. The base has five rollers making it very stable and the mesh seat and back allow air to circulate so there is comfort during long hours at the desk. I highly recommend this office chair for one other good reason; the price was right.
This chair is nice for a small home office because it's fairly compact and I like how many adjustments it has. However the back is very wobbly and isn't well made. I would return it but the receipt says it's not returnable ( I don't remember that on the website).

I am on the shorter side (5'2") so that chair fit isn't perfect. The lumbar support can't be adjusted. The support sat just above where I needed it so I ended up ordering a seat cushion (which put the lumbar support at the proper height). I ended up putting the arms on backwards so that I could move in close to my desk. The seat cushion is comfy and if you are taller the addition of a cushion might not be necessary. The seat pan sits right behind my knees again not shorter person friendly. Since I have to use a footrest the seat doesn't hit the back of my legs so I don't mind. Although the seat pan doesn't slide back and forth I could move the seatback forward to shorten the distance between my back and the end of the seat. However it's a little uncomfortable to sit straight up. If you have longer legs it should support you fully. I like that it can lean back or lock in place. You can also lock the seat in a reclined position. I've only had the chair for a month so time will tell. So far the seat is a good buy and provides decent ergonomic support and adjustments.
I bough this chair because it was a decent price on sale an has more than just the lift/lower adjustment. I like to be able to adjust several points on my desk chair because I'm in it so much for my job. However the seat is so hard that I can't sit in it for more than 2 hours before my back and bottom start hurting. The adjustments don't really do much and the back mesh is really stiff too not much give for your back. This was definitely a waste of money.
