The back support is great and not overbearing. The joints are sturdy for the most part and it's almost an eye sore in our apartment yet low key enough so it doesn't overpower the room. I think it's because it doesn't have a head rest and I can still accidentally fall asleep in the chair in case I'm overworked.

This chair is a great deal.. it's quite unassuming but actually very comfortable. For desk work it's there only chair I found that offers a more rigid approach -something I was actually looking for as opposed to cushy softness. That's not to say this isn't comfortable. It certainly is but you don't feel like you're sinking into it or slouching back as you work. It was also the only chair I found that allowed for three adjustments; height back tilt and seat tilt. Tilting the seat is the best feature because it keeps my butt positioned and not sliding forward. Overall it's a wonderful chair!
