First off: Assembly was quick and easy. The graphic instructions were well done. I will also say the height and tilt controls work well and the levers lock in place reliably. I don't like the seating much though. When you have the seat tilt the resting position feels like a bit of a downward slant. I have to tilt the seat by a few degrees and lock it to feel like the seat is even level. The seat also feels a little "short." I wish the back of the seat could be adjusted not just with regard to height and angle but also in the direction away from the seat. The back of the seat isn't much comfort either. The lumbar support if anything is more of an uncomfortable pressure point no matter the height I set the back of the seat. Unfortunately the lumbar support cannot be adjusted to retract. The other ergonomics of the back of the seat don't make much sense to me either. It doesn't offer any support to speak of to the left and right and the way it bends away from your upper back won't allow you to really lean on it unless you arch your back which of course you won't do at your desk. I will give Staples props for a fast delivery. Next-day delivery was promised and it came that morning just after 9AM. Too bad that this chair for all its adjustable features just doesn't feel right. My previous much cheaper mesh-back desk chair didn't have as many features but seemed to get it just right "intuitively."
I feel like I’ve been punked. I spent hours online looking at dozens of chairs and reading hundreds of reviews. I finally settled on this chair because it had thousands of positive reviews. These people must have been sitting on bricks previously. There is nothing comfortable about this chair. The seat and back are hard and solid. There is very little cushion or softness. I gave it one star because it was easy to assemble. I can’t possibly disassemble this chair or get it to my car alone (quarantined!) in the week Staples has given me to return it. So I’m stuck with it and will have to buy a cushion and seat back. Do not buy unless you go to the store and try it... or if you need a bit of an upgrade from sitting on concrete.
The chair was delivered quickly with no problems. Assembly was easy using an allen wrench that was included. It's got the required adjustments and is firm enough to provide good support and enough cushion for comfort.
