Staples Paper 11" x 17"

I am using 11" x 17" paper a lot for my work and as well for my home office usually if you are using too much of this paper-size it would be much economical if you buy packs of 4 or 5 reams. This time I wanted something quick so I stopped by staple's and grabbed a ream. In nutshell Staple's brand 11" x 17" paper has: Very competitive price (especially when you buy in packs of 4 to 5 reams) Good quality (not the best in the world but much above average) Mostly jam free Has nice texture whiteness brightness and of course contain recycled (paper) percentage.

Why is 11x17 - 3 Times $$$ as 8.5x11?

I wish someone could tell me why a 500 sheets of 11" x 17" costs three times more than a 8.5" x 11". Even saved 1 cut...

Paper is ok packaging all ripped and torn on the shelves. Hoping it will not jam due to damaged edges. Really expensive especially considering damage to packaging.
