Magnetron went out twice in 2 years. Very disappointed! This appears to be a very common complaint.

I am truly enjoying cooking with this stove.

I love having a double oven. So many times I only need one tray and now I don't have to heat the whole oven. I just use the top oven or when cooking a big meal , now I have enough room for everything. It makes life (cooking time) much easier. Truly enjoying using it!!!

A solid stove with pros and cons

We bought this stove when our old stove started smoking out of the knobs. We did a small/quick amount of research before we went to the store and also then while at the store. What really sold us on this stove was the price when compared with all the features. The knowledge of the sales person seemed really good at the time as well. Then we got the stove home...Store Associate / Product Information Mismatch: We were told that you could self-clean both ovens at the same time. Turns out that is not the case. You have to do them one at a time and you can't used the other oven while the first is being cleaned. So now you have to time out the oven use for two cleaning cycles instead of one. We were also told that the warming zone was used one way however the manual doesn't give a lot of specifics on it and what it does say, doesn't really jive with what the associate said. That leads me to believe the associate didn't know what she was talking about when it came to that either. So putting the information mismatch aside, it does frustrate me that I can't clean both ovens at the same time.Stove Use: The stove works well. My wife and I are generally happy with how the stove operates. The cooktop heats fast and hot. We find ourselves cooking at a lower temperature than previously. One con of the cooktop though is that there are only 2 sized burners. These burners work for only large pots/pans or small ones. We have a pasta pot that when we try to use it on the little burner, it takes over a half hour to boil the water however you can't put it on the big burner because the big burner is too large. Our old stove had a medium sized burner and the pot fit that well so be aware of your current cookware when buying this stove or you may have a similar problem. We love the black top on this model. Yes, you see grease splatters more on the black finish but the burnt on crusties to don't see as much. I much prefer this. Our previous stove was a Whirlpool and one thing I am a little worried about is this stove developing the same, "smoking knob" problem. Before the knobs started smoking, the one culprit made a weird buzz sound when it turned on and off for a few years when compared to the other burners. This new stove has a similar sounding burner so I'm concerned that it may develop the same problem, maybe faster than my previous stove. So far, so good though.Oven Use: We generally like the ovens as well however they have really taken some getting used to. There's some sort of design flaw that causes confusion with the unit or something if you are planning to use both ovens but don't pre-heat them or change their temperature settings during the pre-heating. Most of the time we don't have a problem but sometimes there is a frustrating problem where the top oven never seems to hit the desired temperature during the entire cooking time. It is always 5-10 degrees shy of it. If you do the pre-heating properly, by the book, everything works fine. I think there needs to be a re-work of the design by Whirlpool. It is a stove after all, it shouldn't cause confusion or frustration. Another thing we noticed is that you have to pre-heat the top oven completely first or because of the smallness of it and the rack placement, you will either burn the top or the bottom of your food. The manual does make mention of making sure the pre-heat cycle has completed before use but I never had to wait before on the old stove which also pre-heated. Huge plusses for this stove though is being able to cook massive amounts of food at the same time. We did Thanksgiving and using this stove was amazing. That's the main reason why I give it a higher rating. It processes a ton of stuff! When you don't need to bake a lot, using the small oven is quicker and appears to be more energy efficient. We use the little oven for 75% of our baking needs. One last point to note is that this oven makes a lot of noise. I've never heard a stove make so much noise before. I think it is maybe do to the double oven as this is the first one I've owned but when it heats and cools, the metal expands and contracts making banging noises that sometimes are quite startling even when you know they are going to happen. In one use, there will be at least 2 bangs (one for heating and one for cooling). Depending on which oven you use or both seems to determine how many more you hear or how loud they are.All in all, if you are a casual cooker/baker, get frustrated with technology, want something that is 100% functional every time, you may want to go with something else and you probably don't need a double oven. If you cook/bake a lot and can work through a few kinks, this is probably a great purchase for you. If you are a near professional and entertain a bunch of folks in your kitchen, you may also want something else. I think we fit into the second of three statements and I would buy this stove again.

I love my new stove

We have large family gatherings and this stove is the best. I also bought a micro wave oven for above my stove. I love having three Whirlpool ovens. I am retired from Whirlpool and there products are top notch. When one is considering buying an appliance they should look towards Whirlpool. Thanks Whirlpool for coming through for all of my Christmas and every day cooking.

Great stove

We love the small upper oven. It heats up very quickly and is perfect for almost everything we cook in an oven. The stove has a very pleasing appearance. The ceramic cook top works great and cleans up fairy easily. If you spill something on the cook top and it burns on the cleaner that comes with the stove will take it off with a little scrubbing to make look like new again. We are very happy with this double oven stove.
