Physically, it is hard to take off due to its inner sharp edges. It should have had a smooth rounded inside edge (comfort fit edge). You have to take this on and off ever other day to recharge the battery. Technically, It cannot see how many flights of stairs were climbed. For these reasons I would not recommend this first Gen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for reaching out, Sams. Our goal is to make sure our customers have the best experience with our products. We see that you reached out to share your thoughts on the Galaxy Ring. Your Samsung Ring automatically tracks the number of steps you've taken while wearing it. There are different factors that can cause the ring's step count to be inaccurate. However, you may need to verify how your steps are being counted by Samsung Health. The accuracy of the ring's step measurement can be affected by the following factors: Make sure your ring and the Samsung Health app are using the latest software. Environmental and skin conditions may affect how well the steps are recorded. Steps are not counted when there is no hand movement in the exercise. For example, steps may not be recorded when pushing a lawn mower or cart because your hands are not moving. The ring is intended to calculate real step counts while walking. If this continues to happen, we recommend sending an error report. If you’re having an issue with your Galaxy device or an app on your device, you can send an error report to Samsung. This can be done through the Samsung Members app or by using the desired app on your device. Here are the steps to follow: 1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone or tablet. 2. Tap on "Menu," which may appear as a circle in the bottom center of the screen or three horizontal lines on the left side. 3. Tap on "More" in the upper right, which looks like three vertical dots. 4. Tap on "Settings," and then tap "Contact us" at the bottom. 5. Tap on "Error reports" under "Send feedback." 6. Select the wearable device(s) you are having issues with from the list, and then tap "Next." 7. Make sure "Send system log data" is checked, and then fill out the other required fields. 8. If you want to include an additional attachment, tap the "Attach" icon, which looks like a paper clip in the upper right corner. You can add a photo, screenshot, or voice recording. 9. When you're ready, tap the send arrow in the upper right corner. If this continues to be your experience, please reach out to us at Samsung Support so that we can further assist with this. -Kelvin smsng.us/Samsung-Support smsng.us/Facebook-Messenger smsng.us/X-Messages smsng.us/Samsung-Community smsng.us/Warranty-Info smsng.us/Samsung-Care-Plus
Tracking isnt that great without the watch. I tested it with my vigorous daily excercises and came to the conclusion. Its a overpriced pedometer.

Thank you for contacting us, Ruiz. It seems you got in touch to share your feedback about the Galaxy Ring. The Galaxy Ring automatically recognizes your activity and starts recording after you exercise continuously for a certain period. It collects activity diagnostics such as steps, exercise time, and calories burned. You can view all the diagnostics using the Samsung Health app. If you find that the information on your watch is inaccurate, we suggest sending an error report. To send an error report for your Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds, or Galaxy Ring, you'll need to use the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected phone or tablet. If this persists, please contact Samsung Support for further assistance. -Kelvin smsng.us/Samsung-Support smsng.us/Facebook-Messenger smsng.us/X-Messages smsng.us/Samsung-Community smsng.us/Warranty-Info smsng.us/Samsung-Care-Plus
Everything I expected. Great product. The ring keeps a charge for over 10 days. Takes a while to get thru everything it is helping to track. Works well with Samsung Watch 7. Better than my previous ring that charged for seeing my results,
Nice beginning entry into the ring market. Says scratch resistance but I have a nice scrape, I guess you can say, within the first week of owning. Nice combination with watch, so there is a plus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hey James! It's great to hear from you and we appreciate your honesty in your review of the Galaxy Ring. We're excited to see that you are using this Ring paired with your watch! Wearing the Ring with a Galaxy watch will maximize its shared health features and extend the Ring’s battery life by up to 30 percent. When wearing them together, the watch will function as the primary device, and some of the Ring’s features will automatically turn off to save power (this includes heart rate and sleep measurements). If the watch runs out of battery, health tracking will resume on the Ring. The Ring is also equipped with a Grade 5 Titanium scratch-resistant body. We do understand that accidents can happen. We recommend checking out the link attached for tips on how to wear your Ring to keep it in top-notch shape. If you have any further concerns or questions, please reach out to us at Samsung Support. -Kelvin https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10003280/ smsng.us/Samsung-Support smsng.us/Facebook-Messenger smsng.us/X-Messages smsng.us/Samsung-Community smsng.us/Warranty-Info smsng.us/Samsung-Care-Plus
Functionally it's fine, at this point, but the paint is ALREADY coming off which is a major disappointment. Suggestions? I don't work with heavy machinery or power tools which would cause this to happen. Should I take it off to wash my hands?

Hi Nate! We appreciate you sharing your candid feedback on the Galaxy Ring. We always love to hear from our valued customers. We understand that you had concerns about the ring possible scratching. When maintaining and preventing scratches on your Galaxy Ring, it's important to note that rubber pads are installed on the Ring’s storage cradle to prevent movement while the Ring is mounted. Slight indentations may occur on the Ring’s inner band where the rubber pads touch if stored for long periods, but this does not affect the functional performance of the Ring. Be careful not to damage your ring when handling other objects (phones, phone cases, watches, etc.) while wearing it. Also, avoid wearing metal rings on the same finger or adjacent fingers, and remove your ring when lifting or handling heavy, hard objects. Certain features, like step counting, may not work properly if you're holding a magnet or a magnetic object in the hand wearing the ring. Nicks and scratches can occur during everyday activities, so handle your ring with care as these are not covered by the warranty. Wear your ring on the hand you use less frequently, and make sure your finger and ring are clean and dry before wearing the ring. Lastly, if you experience any skin irritation while wearing the ring, stop wearing it immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Samsung offers a 12-month limited warranty for manufacturer defects. We also provide the option to add additional coverage with Samsung Care+ on eligible devices, which offers extended protection and additional support. If you require any further assistance with this or anything else, please reach out to us at Samsung Support. -Kelvin smsng.us/Samsung- Support smsng.us/Facebook-Messenger smsng.us/X-Messages smsng.us/Samsung-Community smsng.us/Warranty-Info smsng.us/Samsung-Care-Plus
