Doesn't track heartrate in workouts
on June 19, 2025
Posted by: Rachel
from Dallas, TX
Don't buy this ring. It won't track your heart rate during a workout even if you follow the 6 steps exactly that they tell you too. I do intense cardios and it doesn't register above 109 or so. If I pause midway through and measure it's accurate but the point of this is to track my health. Since it doesn't do that all the other tracking is off and the energy scores and such are useless. I sent it off to be repaired but it didn't fix this. I really regret buying this and not the Oura. I question the accuracy of my heart rate for the rest of the time too.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Howdy Rachel,
Thanks for taking the available time out of your day to share your thoughts with us about your Samsung Galaxy Ring. We appreciate your candor as we strive to improve the functionality and design of our product line. Samsung provides a 12-month warranty on our products for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, linked below. The Galaxy Ring does not continuously track heart rate during all workout activities. While it can detect and track heart rate during activities like walking and running, it doesn't automatically offer continuous heart rate monitoring for every exercise. For other exercises, you may need to manually initiate heart rate measurement through the Samsung Health app. Then you can view your heart rate data, including measurements taken during detected or manually tracked activities, in the Samsung Health app. If you have any questions or if you would like any further assistance, please feel free to reach out to Samsung Support. Thank you for being a valued Samsung customer.

Hi Jenn,

Without having more details available regarding what you may be experiencing and without being able to ask you any follow up questions to probe further, I recommend reaching out to Samsung Support for further assistance. Poor Product
on October 20, 2025
Posted by: DrJCPC
Horrendous product. Purchased the ring about 9 months ago and use sparingly the first 4 months, daily for last 5 months. Battery life about 5 days per advertised. Last week, the ring battery suddenly dropped from 60% remaining to 0% in matter minutes and drops 20% each 2 hours. Ring does not last a day now. Contacted warranty support and the support website says the ring is out of warranty now even though it should be a 1 year warranty. Ditching the samsung ring and shopping for alternative ring now.

Hello there DrJCPC, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us about your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Ring. We appreciate your critiques as we continue to improve the functionality and performance of our product line. Samsung offers a 12-month warranty on your device for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. We also offer Samsung Care+ which can be added to eligible devices. It's similar to an extended warranty plan and an insurance package combined that provides protection beyond the standard manufacturer's warranty. It could cover events like accidental damage, mechanical breakdowns, and potentially theft and loss. Samsung Care+ offers you the ultimate peace of mind when it comes to protecting your investment. On a single charge, the Galaxy Ring can last up to 7 days, depending on usage. Battery life may be extended by up to 30% if worn alongside a Galaxy Watch, as this helps reduce redundant feature usage. For optimal battery performance, it's recommended to store the Ring in its charging case when not in use. If left outside the case, the Ring's sensors will remain active, resulting in unnecessary battery consumption. Battery life for your Galaxy Ring can vary depending on environmental factors like temperature, network environment, and signal strength can all affect battery life. Also, usage patterns: frequent use of features like sleep tracking, work auto detection, and gesture controls can impact how long the battery lasts. Please feel free to take a look at, "How to charge the Galaxy Ring" if you would like to learn more about the factors that may be impacting the life of your device. If you would like any further assistance after, please feel free to reach out to Samsung Support. Thanks for being a dedicated Samsung customer! - Debra

Not great long term
on November 15, 2025
Posted by: JMack
This ring was great at the beginning but like other reviews, after just 10 months I have to charge the ring every other day. Just this morning after I charged it to 100%, it dropped to 87% within an hour and a half. I was simply in the kitchen doing tasks. It also doesn't accurately count steps all the time. Example when I get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, it doesn't count the steps or if I've been laying down for a bit then get up to do things, it won't count the steps. It also isn't tracking my sleep as accurate. Within just 3 months of having it, the color started wearing off on the edges (I purchased a black ring). Really disappointed in the longevity of this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello JMack,
Thank you for taking the opportunity to share your thoughts with us about your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Ring. We value your candor and critiques as we improve our product line based on customer feedback like yours. Samsung offers a 12-month warranty on your device for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. We also have Samsung Care+ which can be added to your eligible devices. It's like extended warranty and an insurance package combined together to provide protection beyond the standard manufacturer's warranty. It could cover events like accidental damage, mechanical breakdowns, and potentially theft and loss. Samsung Care+ offers you the ultimate peace of mind when added to your eligible devices. Our partners at UbreakIfix are also available to assist you with any repair needs you may have. Battery life for your Galaxy Ring can vary depending on environmental factors like temperature, network environment, and signal strength can all affect battery life. Also, usage patterns: frequent use of features like sleep tracking, work auto detection, and gesture controls can impact how long the battery lasts. Please ensure that your Galaxy Ring fits properly and that your location permissions are enabled for the Samsung Health app, if your device is not tracking your steps correctly. The Galaxy Ring tracks steps using its internal sensors to detect your hand's movement. A few steps might not be counted if your hand is stationary (e.g., pushing a stroller), the ring isn't worn correctly, or if the app is set to prioritize data from your phone over the ring. Feel free to review the resources provided below to help resolve what you've described to be experiencing with your battery life. If you have any questions or if you would like any further assistance afterward, feel free to reach out to Samsung Support at your earliest convenience. Thanks for being a staunch Samsung customer.

Very honest feedback after a month of use

If you're looking for step and sleep tracking during more times of your day than you can wear a smartwatch, or don't have an interest in a smartwatch, this is a solid product.
Understand it does *nothing else* outside of that.
Being new technology, the price is understandable. But it's hard to justify what it does to improve your life for the cost. It can be tempting to have the cool new thing, which is what got me...but ultimately the watch does more for less. And both together provide minimal accuracy bumps (supposedly).
It's nice to be able to wash hands with it on. I have significantly more data and better sleep tracking than I ever have thanks to wearing it at night. It's not good to wear when lifting weights.
Look for a bundle and save deal if you're interested or stay tuned for future variations if you're on the fence.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is awesome. The only thing I don't like is that it registers your sleep score when you get up to use the rest room and then it gives you a poor sleep score.
