[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the new Samsung Galaxy Ring on impulse while picking up a new Samsung Galaxy A35 5G to work with my new Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. I decided on adding th new Samsung Galaxy Ring to my suite of products because it's reported to work quite well in tandem with the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra in tracking and collecting health & fitness metrics, as well as extending the battery life of both by balancing one device with the other in which one monitors what and when instead one just one doing all the work solo. Since this is a new purchase and I'm still getting familiar with it, I'm unaware of how it interfaces and works with Galaxy AI, but with 3 devices in a network of Samsung Galaxy devices, I'm interested to see how that works. So far my experience has been excellent; 5 stars all the way!
I am only 3 days into the ring. Absolutely love it so far. The positives are that it is lightweight, easy setup and appears to keep great data. It is giving me great feedback about my daily habits and sleep only after 3 days and still going strong on the battery life.
The only issue is, that i feel as I lose more weight, I will probably have to trade it in. I read a post after my ring shipped about ordering 1 size down from the sizing kit , I believe this to be accurate and can understand that statement now.
Other than that, Samsung hit the mark on another product!
So, the ring comes in a typical box, with typical parchment wrap and box filler. Then inside you have the box, you peel open the seal, open the box and inside you have the charging stand with the ring inside. Then in typical Samsung fashion, the envelope that has the charging cord and instructions. ***FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS** you shouldn't need to charge the ring prior to activation and use, however, remember to allow it to fully deplete the battery before charging. **
I've been wearing my galaxy ring for a few days now and the only thing that has stuck out to me is tlon the software side of things. I do not like the way heart rate is charted. Currently I get a range from 1pm-1:59pm my gear trate was between 60-70 beats instead of allowing me to see the bpm at any given time like garmin allows me too.
Almost a 4 star because of the size to to fit ratio. I am a normally a ring size 8 and I lost a ton of weight and the Samsung test rings said I was a 7 but it is too tight and I have to wear it in my pinky now. I also wear my wedding ring on my middle finger now for space between the rings on my left hand.
The sleep stats are amazing. I don't know much about my own personal genetics about health and sleep habits. So, I often wondered how I slept. I have never been a deep sleeper and am often told I never snore and wake up all the time to the smallest of sounds.
Well the ring helped showed me all of my sleep habits, body temperature throughout the night, BPM, stress levels, and more. I just wish there was a standalone app for just the ring and not the wearable app.
Great start into the ring game but hopefully the next gen sensors have a little smaller sensor and possibly upgraded technology for a better fit.
I have found this ring to be a device I can wear all the time to collect fitness and overall health stats. The battery life has been good, I charge it while sitting at my desk.
Seems to be doing pretty good. Little rigid but definitely enjoy the metrics. Wish I could see in health more about what data comes from the ring and what comes from my watch.
I was more than impressed with the ease of purchasing this ring and then connecting it up to my phone. The ring sizing kit sent by Samsung allowed me to test several options (fingers) for wearing the ring and choose the right one for me. I received the actual ring less than a week after I confirmed what size I wanted. I cannot comfortably wear a watch, besides it's almost like carrying a 2nd phone, and I was hoping the ring would be able to provide me some useful health insights. I have not been disappointed in the wealth of information provided. I have found nothing unsatisfactory so far in my experience purchasing and wearing this ring and look forward to a healthier me with its help.
