Functional bad craftsmanship

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ring is exceptionally functional. I have been using almost all the time since I bought 4 months ago. It definitely help me to understand my sleep patterns and make lifestyle adjustment to improve.
My biggest concern, craftsmanship. I got scratches and discoloration. I had in past normal rind, without any such issues.

ALMOST THERE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my ring for over 6 months ths now. I had the Oura ring for a little more than a year before that. So in this review, I am mainly comparing the two rings. For both rings, I have had the Samsung fold3 as my phone.
The galaxy ring is a great ring. It works flawlessly with my phone, tracks the normal day to day stuff very well and is very durable. I have it on when I sleep and it tracks my sleep patterns very well. It would be nice if it could give us some better advice on what we should do for the day based on how we sleep. I also have it on durring my crossfit workouts. After 6 months of being in the gym 3-4 times a week, it is in almost new condition. This is the area of greatest failure of this ring. Durring heavy or intense workouts, it tends to stop tracking. It has a hard time tracking heart rate and recognizing any of the activities. Tracking workouts is the only big issue with the ring. Non-workouts like hiking, biking, walks or mowing it dose a great job.
What makes this ring worth it, is you don't have a membship fee and it is more durable than other rings. I would love for Samsung to fix the workout issue and make it a little better at notifications.
I am a very active person and love how this ring helps me track my activity.

Data is good, design shape is terrible

I am quite pleased overall with the functionality and data it provides. It took me a while to trust the data, but now that I've been wearing it for several months I find it generally trustworthy. My biggest complaint is the stupid shape - it's not curved like a typical wedding band but rather has sharp corners. This has lead to recurrent blisters on my pinky finger next to the ring. I will have to stop wearing it for 3-4 days every few weeks to give that finger a chance to heal after blisters form next to the right from it's physical trauma caused by the sharp edges of the shape. It doesn't taper at the sides, it gets thicker and has a sharp corner. For this reason, I'm quite disappointed because it's not very pleasant to wear and if you shake hands with the wrong person, your surrounding fingers will be crushed by the ring. I know it recommends wearing it on the index finger, but data is accurate on the ring finger also and I didn't want a huge fat ring on my index finger.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you're looking for step and sleep tracking during more times of your day than you can wear a smartwatch, or don't have an interest in a smartwatch, this is a solid product.
Understand it does *nothing else* outside of that.
Being new technology, the price is understandable. But it's hard to justify what it does to improve your life for the cost. It can be tempting to have the cool new thing, which is what got me...but ultimately the watch does more for less. And both together provide minimal accuracy bumps (supposedly).
It's nice to be able to wash hands with it on. I have significantly more data and better sleep tracking than I ever have thanks to wearing it at night. It's not good to wear when lifting weights.
Look for a bundle and save deal if you're interested or stay tuned for future variations if you're on the fence.
