[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been wearing a different kind of smart watch, and I wanted to transition back to a standard watch after receiving one as a gift. I started considering alternative products and decided to try a smart ring. I did some research and found that the Galaxy Ring was a great choice - I already have a Galaxy phone (love it), and the ring came highly recommended without requiring a subscription. I went to an electronics store and tried on the sample rings, and while that worked out for me, I can see why a 24-hour test is recommended - my actual ring fits better (and very comfortably) on my middle finger, whereas I thought the size I chose would be better suited to my index finger. But in hindsight, I prefer to wear it on the middle finger anyway so this worked out. The black titanium is durable and comfortable. It charges quickly and the battery lasts for several days. I am really pleased with all the data it offers too. If you are thinking of getting one, don't hesitate!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how this ring pairs well with my watch and provides me information on my fitness along with well being.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a huge a of Samsung for years. Once ring came out, had to get it and to be honest I didn't expect much out of a small item. Here is my 30 day reiew Pros: 1. Design is fantastic. Simple, neat and very comfortable for long term wear 2. Accurate 24 x 7 finess tracking 3. Uses existing Samsung health app. Super easy to track activities. 4. Water resistant so no need to worry about shower or sweat 5. Impressive battery life. Mine lasts 6 days on a single charge. The case also is a charger like the buds so can charge on the go. 6. Gesture works well. I use it mostly for camera and to hand up. Except I dismissed alarms a couple of times accidentally 🙃 7. Tracks sleep, stress and activities well better than the watch
Cons: 1. It works only on android for now (may be issue for non android people) 2. Samsung recommends using ring on index finger and it is takes a little bit longer for getting used to. Using on ring finger makes it still usable fine but some Gestures are hard.
Overall I love it. I do recommend it as its better than the watch in many ways esp battery life. Just am not sure what to do with the watch I already own 😀
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really enjoying my Samsung ring. Fits nicely, although I am looking forward to the larger sizes. Works is advertised and tracks my exercise very very well, I especially like the ability to take a picture with it through my phone. A great companion for my ultra watch. Well done Samsung
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks nice and battery lasts very long. Somewhat uncomfortable when wearing too long and scratches easier.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up this room in order to help keep track of my heart rate while sleeping. The ring is very lightweight, functional, as well as quite fashionable. It does a great job smoothly integrating with Samsung health and my Galaxy watch in order to give me a complete 24/7 view of my health vitals. The battery life is amazing and the ring is so lightweight I hardly notice I'm wearing it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I'd start by saying the positives. It is a very well engineered ring that gives a lot of complex and useful features in a very practical form factor. The device's sensors are definitely present but they are not felt at all. To be honest, it is easier to forget that it's there than it is to actively think about it. The metrics it pulls are very useful for fitness and wellness tracking. The availability of coaching for sleep and meditations to manage stress is also a very nice tough Samsung.
Next I want to talk about the aspects that are good but need polish. Namely, gestures. It is very nice to be able to pinch your fingers in order to take a picture or dismiss an alarm in theory but the controls are not reliable. What I'd like to see is a more robust feature set for gestures and greater fidelity in those commands.
Finally I want to touch on some needed areas of improvement. The material itself is quite durable but for the black ring, it feels somewhat cheap. In fact, the color wears away pretty quickly on the side facing your palm on the edges. On that note, the sizing isn't quite ideal. This allows the sensor bar to move around too freely for some and the ring to be too tight for others.
In conclusion, this is an absolutely solid 1st generation ring but it is still a 1st generation device. It has other features such as pairing with your Samsung watch but these do not factor too heavily in my rating. I'll be excited to see where Samsung takes the next generation!
