This set has all the 'good' knives - all the ones you want to use when cooking. The 8-inch chef is the backbone, the 5-inch santoku is excellent for chopping vegs and fruits. Plus it comes with a good selection of specialty knives - paring, bread, serrated utility. Plus the set of 6 table (aka steak) knives are a bonus. They will complement every place setting.
Silvercap knives are micro-serrated. They will stay sharp for years to come. Non-extra maintenance necessary. Just use, wash, dry and repeat. This set with the shears and attractive black wood block is an exceptional value.
This is my first set of knives I've bought myself. I'm just getting started cooking on my own and this set has it all. I love how they stay sharp so i don't need to learn how to sharpen them. The Chefs knife really lives up to its name as handleing most jobs but i like the variety this set provides. The slim modern block looks great in my apartment and adds a nice modern feel.
All stek knives and 2 of the larger rusted within 2 weeks...Just like my Ginsu my favorite Chinese knives... blah super disappointed
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Please review the use and care guide included with your purchase to ensure you are using best practices to preserve your cutlery. We recommend cleaning the blades with Bar Keepers Friend or a rust eraser. If that's not successful, and you feel this is a potential manufacturing defect, you may consider filing a warranty claim: https://www.zwilling.com/us/warranty.html
This modern set with a silver end cap on the handle will look great in any kitchen: black, white, or stainless steel. The steak knives are a bonus and I use these shears almost every day. Although the blades are stamped, I still find them to be ergonomic and well balanced. Even though they are dishwasher safe, I prefer to hand wash my set.
These knives are terrible and honestly somewhat dangerous outside of the obvious fact that it’s a knife. The serrated edges cause the knives to not cut straight, so as you’re cutting, it slips sometimes and almost takes a finger off. I have been buying zwilling knives for a while and these are by far the worst knives I’ve ever gotten.
these knives do the job. They match my kitchen and the right knives, for me, are in the block set. I did purchase extra steak knives to have just in case
I like that the knives do not need to be sharpened. Have been great for cutting all my veggies. I also love the HE Santoku in this set, as it is perfect for those veggies & do not
