[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very excited that this is my first complete knife set. They come very sharp, and have a good weight and balance feel to them. Additionally, the block is very stable, so I'm not worried about it tipping over. Be careful to not put a knife in a slot that it doesn't fit in; it's a bit hard to get out. Overall, I feel these knives were a solid purchase :)

Complete set of affordable, quality knives

This set has all the 'good' knives - all the ones you want to use when cooking. The 8-inch chef is the backbone, the 5-inch santoku is excellent for chopping vegs and fruits. Plus it comes with a good selection of specialty knives - paring, bread, serrated utility. Plus the set of 6 table (aka steak) knives are a bonus. They will complement every place setting.
Silvercap knives are micro-serrated. They will stay sharp for years to come. Non-extra maintenance necessary. Just use, wash, dry and repeat. This set with the shears and attractive black wood block is an exceptional value.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great knife set. Each piece is well-weighted and sturdy. Very sharp as well. The block seems to be fake wood/plastic and I would have preferred real, visible wood.
