Newer But Not Necessarily Better

I don't usually write product reviews unless I am annoyed or frusterated, so feel free to take that into account with this review. We recently replaced our similar Bosch dishwasher from around 2015. Overall we were mostly pretty happy with the original model, but 10 years seems to be about the life limit and it was time to replace. My initial thoughts were that the two were very similar with only a few changes, however those changes have a big impact on useability. First, for small things, the silverware rack is largely unchanged and still fine, however a bit harder to pull out now. It seems like a sticky mechanism was intentionally added to hold it shut, but it makes pulling out the drawer a bit clunky. Next, also somewhat minor is a redesign the the middle rack to remove one of the rails that holds dishes in place. I'm mixed on that change so far, but it does limit the amount of dishes you can put in the middle rack. The lower rack is mostly unchanged other than a smaller utility tray and a bit better design on the quadrant used for small plates. All of these are minor, and I may learn to appreciate them more as I use the dishwasher, but my major complaint is the overhaul on the dishwasher controls. The older push button controls have been removed in favor of touch control buttons which don't work for beans with a wet dishwaser or wet hands. You'll need to dry your hands and the control panel thoroughly every time you want push a button. Also, the functionality has been really reduced. You can't tell how long the cycle will be anymore, the clock that indicates how much longer the cycle will run is removed, and a lot of basic functionality is now gone. Looking into it more, you now must use the phone app if you want to get any of this functionality back. If you want to have your appliance connect to a phone app, fine. Stupid, but fine. But making someone go track down their phone every time they want to start their dishwasher or check the dishwasher status is an absolute crap user experience. If you want an app, have the ability to control things both from the appliance and from the app. Unless the app will also load the dishwasher then I don't want to go to an app every time I want to set the dishwasher settings. My overall review would probably be 4 stars for the main dishwasher itself, but the change in the controls makes this dishwasher amazingly frusterating to actually use.

Works like a Bosch

What can I say, the dishwasher works great is so quiet. Everything comes out super clean with very little detergent. My one small gripe is the adjustable shelf. It can be very difficult to get it to stay in the middle position if you just need a little more room. So I leave that rack in the highest position and it seems to work fine for me.

Terrible lower rack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bottom rack falls off tracks everytime you try and push it in. Rack is too narrow for the tracks in the dishwasher. Doesn't dry very well. Very disappointed. Been on hold for 22 minutes this time. Highly don't recommend Bosch!
