We live in a wooded subdivision and often lose power due to trees falling over power lines. Also, we live on the gulf Coast of Texas which is sometimes a target for hurricanes causing large power outages. We will utilize this unit to help cool part of our home utilizing a generator but we also pray we don't end up using this as a backup.

We upgraded from an old, tired 5000 BTU to this 14000 BTU today and it has been a life changer. Awesome unit. Better than I expected.

When I opened the box the air conditioner was a little slick and oily. Did not use it right away because I’m in Montana. Used it today and it does not cool.
