Easy Set Up, Great for Beginners

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This SINGER® 62C Brilliance Plus™ Computerized Sewing Machine helps make sewing less intimidating. To start with, it is not overly heavy, making it easy to move around. The machine comes with a quick start guide that is helpful but not as detailed as it could be. There is no paper manual with the machine. If you need the manual, you must scan the QR code provided for further instructions. Some may find this to be an inconvenience or slight annoyance if you like having a hard copy of an instruction booklet. Threading the machine is relatively simple. There are graphics right on the machine to help guide you and only took a couple times before I was comfortable doing it. The pedal for the machine has a good cord length and plugs in separately which is nice not having an extra cord permanently attached to the machine. The extension table snaps easily onto the machine and stays in place. The bobbin casing is a little tedious to put back in place but doable and becomes easier after a few attempts. When sewing, the machine is pretty quiet and doesn’t make a lot of noise. It’s very easy to change not only the type of stitch, but also the length and width of the stitch with just a few pushes of a button. The lighting on the machine is EXCELLENT. It’s LED making it really easy to see what I’m doing. As a person new to using a sewing machine I find this to be a great one to learn on. It’s definitely going to take use and practice but the computerized stitching, easy threading and overall use makes it a great machine to learn on.

My New Baby!

Thankfully, I was taught how to use a peddle sewing machine at 13 so this may come easier to me than a brand new beginner. However, I promise this machine is great for a beginner because it's very simple. Thank you for a great product Singer.

Excellent sewing machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first sewing machine so I was a little intimidated but this thing is amazing and so easy to learn on. At the same time, it's complex enough that I'm sure I won't outgrow it as I learn. It has 180 different stitch patterns that can be brought up with a touch of a button. It has a big extension table which is super convenient. It's very durable and well built which is great because I have to store it when not in use so it's constantly being moved.

Basic, but it works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a heavy, stable machine that will handle thick projects with no bouncing . I tested it on a range of fabrics. It will sew 6 layers of denim just fine, but absolutely chews up delicate fabrics, even with a stabilizer. It works well enough on heavier knits, but trying DBP left me with 15 minutes of rethreading and trying to rebalance everything. All of the stitches I tried were fairly balanced. Not as tidy as my more expensive machine, but better than some other low end machines I've tried. The zig zag didn't get tight enough to do applique work, and the straight stitch only goes up to a 4. It uses a front load metal bobbin, so no keeping an eye on your thread levels.

Great Sewing Machine!

The way it is made makes it fairly universal with practically any use case you may need it for! I'd absolutely recommend this sewing machine over other sewing machines, because it's a lot better in terms of quality and usability!

Waste of money

This was given to me as a gift and is not reliable. Thread breaks, needle breaks, bobbin wads up, needle unthreads, stitches switch on their own. I have changed needles and thread. Changed tension. Tried other stitches and bottom thread always wads up. I have yet to be able sew any item. I cannot return it. I received as a gift and no receipt or box. And don’t know the exact purchase date.
I have had it serviced and nothing changed. I’ve been sewing for over 50 years and have never had this problem.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The SINGER Brilliance Plus sewing machine was well packaged and all the attachments were included. A “quick start” sheet was included, but was not sufficient in details. An actual operating manual would have been useful but was not included. I was able to go online and watch some useful YOUTUBE videos of some of the many options this machine offers. I tried all the different functions and was pleased at how well it worked. I love the self-threader and the ease of setting the stitch design of choice on the LED display. All in all, this is a great sewing machine. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys sewing.
