I have to be threading the upper thread every 10 stitches, and yes , everything in the correct position, I followed every single step and still not working properly. This is the first time having lots of problems with a sewing machine

Never buy this machine

I bought the Singer Fashion Mate for my 10 year old granddaughter. It lasted just beyond the 90 day warranty when the timing went out. This is a major repair costing more than the machine is worth. It has plastic parts, is difficult to thread, the bobbin tension is difficult to manage and the presser foot is very difficult to change. Overall it is a very poorly designed and made machine. I have a 50 year old singer machine that runs like a charm and is so easy to use and manage. I would never recommend this machine and would give it no stars if that were possible.

Aweful from start to finish. Everything threaded with ease but the back stitching is awful awful awful. I went from a brother to a singer and I'll be going back. Maybe I am just used to my other but this was nothing but a headache.
bobbin holder comes out of place every few minutes, have to take off the cover, take out the bobbin, take out the holder, take five mins to get it in properly , put bobbin back in, put cover back on, I don't even put the screws back as I have to do it so often
Cons: Difficult To Use, Limited Function, Not Durable

I had to replace my old Singer and I couldn’t be more disappointed. This is cheap, plastic and doesn’t even come with the instruction manual. I’m keeping my old presser feet because they are at least metal. I recommend exploring other brands. Singer is no longer what my grandma used.

Let Down by Singer

I got this sewing machine in order to begin my learning for a fashion career. As my current work is judged on quality, I've been struggling due to the machine I've been using-- the Fashion Mate 3342. The machine I received never came with a manual, and the preset tension makes fabric difficult to work with while sewing. I've tried changing the fabric weight; sewing with different needle types and weights; getting the machine serviced; retrying rethreading (also using the automatic needle threader), and using various threads. However, without fail, the seams always pucker, and my work ends up looking quite subpar. It's quite hard to learn proper sewing techniques when the technical aspects of your machine are already improper! Part of learning fashion, I guess, is knowing what sewing machines to use.

Never thought I would have this much trouble with a sewing machine. The machine itself may work wonderfully. But I won't know until the power cord / press pedal finally makes it here. It has been two weeks sitting on my table. My excitement of owning a new Singer has faded. Getting any help from the company was a challenge. When I finally found a way to reach them via email, they sent the power cord. Reaching them took 6 days. Today makes the 7th day since they sent the cord out. Obviously it was sent on the back of the slowest turtle anyone could find. Very disheartened by this whole experience. As the situation was a result of someone not doing their job, I would have thought the company could have shipped it priority / express / overnight / two day delivery. Something a little faster than just UPS / USPS Mail Innovations. Coming from TN. Never been there, but I bet I could have driven there, picked it up, and driven back again long before this power source gets here.
Bought one for 10 year old grand daughter to learn to sew and one for myself when my old machine had problems. Pretty simple to use. Except self needle-threading device. Can't figure it out. Whole thing missing on grand daughter's machine. Foot pedal is flimsy plastic. Slides all over the floor, away from my foot. Very annoying. Can't recommend machine just because of this feature.
Pros: smooth stitching
Cons: flimsy lightweight foot control slides all over
