LA110 subwoofer amplifier noise floor

The white noise/hiss sound coming from the LA110 subwoofer when powered on is noticeable and louder than expected. Most active subwoofers have very faint sound if any when quiet, and mine is noticeable from a few feet away during quiet scenes in movies.
The bass sounds from the subwoofer are good when needed, however the noise floor behaviour on this model is a lot higher than most subwoofers I’ve heard, and higher than what I thought it would be from a Cerwin-Vega product. I would not have purchased at this price point if able to hear it in person before hand (as this was purchased through an on-line retailer).
