We could never quite push our bed's headboard to the wall with everything plugged in behind there (nightstand lamps, a giant power strip for phone chargers, alarm clocks, etc). I'd been thinking of buying a rotating plug in for some time now. After doing some research, I chose a Tripp Lite surge protector - once it arrived, I plugged it in behind the bed, plugged in all the cords, rotated the sides out, and pushed my bed into place. I gained another 3-5" of space with the headboard closer to the wall, but it felt like 3-5 feet!!!

Excellent product - like that it shuts down after a big surge so one knows when it no longer protects. Only down side was that one of the three I purchased was for use in an outlet with switch so it was too close to operate the switch. So, I purchased another Tripp Lite for that location

I needed more sockets for set top devices behind my wall mount TV, in a low profile format. This provided a solution with a bonus surge protection!. I was a bit skeptical that it would fit behind some of my ultra slim mounts, but it does (just barely) when plugs are rotated to 90*. I was so satisfied with the first 2 I ordered 3 more for the rest of my installations.
