[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Good
This little drive feels great in the hand. The body feels like metal, and the flip mechanism is smooth with a satisfying click at each quarter turn. It gives you both USB C and USB A ends, so it plugs into just about any computer without an adapter. It’s small enough to slip in a pocket, though it has no LED activity light, so you won’t see when it’s working.

Read speeds beat the packaging. The box promises 100MB/s, and CrystalDiskMark showed over 150MB/s. USB C and USB A performed within 5% of each other, so you don’t have to pick a favorite side.
It also ships with encryption software on the drive to help protect your data, and it doesn’t try to install itself when you plug it into a Windows computer. I didn’t run the software myself, so I can’t speak to how well it works. I’m just glad it stays out of the way.
The Reality Check
Write speed is where this drive falls short. CrystalDiskMark showed writes below 50MB/s, and a real large-file copy settled around 23MB/s. At that rate, filling the drive takes about 21 minutes for the 28.8GB you can actually use, or around 23 minutes if you go by the 32GB on the label. That adds up if you move big files often. (Speaking of capacity, it showed 28.8GB on my computer, which is normal formatting overhead.)

It also runs warm during copying and benchmarking. It was never uncomfortable to hold, and the metal body is probably helping move heat away, so I’d call that a feature.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a complimentary sample of Lexar JumpDrive Dual Drive D400 USB 3.3 Gen 1 Type C in exchange for my honest use and review. This is an amazing USB, the capacity is just right for storage of my phones pictures and videos. Very reliable and connects seamlessly with Mt Andrioid. Super light and small size, which is a huge plus.

Impressive Lexar full metal 32gb USB A/C! 10/10!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 32 gigabyte dual drive USB has been a great addition to my workflow and personal tech needs! The obvious benefit here is being able to take advantage of both USB type A and C connections- these can be used in computers, phones, tablets and basically any other device with a usb port made in the past 20 years or so. Outside of that, 32 gigabytes isn’t a huge amount of storage today but for the size and formfactor of this device, it does feel like you are getting some good storage for something that fits in the palm of your hand. And finally, but certainly not least, is the build quality of this little guy- I have only used plastic (almost disposable) USBs in the past, but this thing is solid metal! I can’t tell if it’s aluminum (likely) or something else, but WOW, I don’t think I can go back to anything else. It feel like a seriously premium device and something that you won’t just forget about. On top of that, it has a great rotating mechanism that will “hide” which ever input you are not actively using. It also has a small opening for it to be attached to a keychain. Overall, I’m really impressed with this Alexa’s USB and will definitely be taking a look at some more of their products! 10/10 IMO
