Worth the upgrade

Going to give a different review than most.
I have put this watch through the paces on a street level
What really stands out besides its tuffness is some of the features other than on the fitness side.
The red shift feature is a solid winner for anyone needing to reduce brightness for work purposes. Not to dim and not to bright.
Wrist wake is very responsive when it needs to be.
Maps feature is fast at acquiring a signal.
I have put this watch through the paces on a street level

Best watch yet!

I bought this watch about a month ago right before I went on a four-day backpack trip into the wilderness area. I was amazed at how well the battery stayed up and how little time it took to charge back up when I did charge it. The watch with six hours of gps and the map on took about fifteen percent , my Felix 5 would have used 30 percent And of course the dial is as nice as an Apple Watch to see. At this point I can’t imagine needing any other features , although I’m sure at some point, they willhave even more battery and possibly be able to answer a call and talk feature on it but I am perfectly happy with this watch for the foreseeable future for sure.

I struggled with buying this watch because of the cost but ultimately I couldn't help myself. I am so glad I did. I've never owned a watch that is so useful beyond telling time. The flashlight. The weather. Sleep patterns. Heart rate. Step counting. GPS. Compass. Plus much more. Admittedly there's a learning curve to using all the features but once you get the hang of it,there's a logic to accessing and editing features.
Obviously it's a handsome watch and so far the titanium watch and sapphire glass has held up with no scratches. I like being able to customize the watch faces too to reflect different data fields or just more appealing face/colors.

Love all the features and ease of use. I use the light more then I thought I would, comes in handy. I also like that I can blue tooth the heart rate during indoor activities so I don’t have to use chest strap during Zwift.

Amazing

I had a fit bit before, but that was just basic now that I want to step up my training I needed something more advanced - so far so GREAT! The battery life is extremely long AND the brightness is wonderful. Its worth the money spent in my opinion

This watch is TOUGH!

Two weeks ago, I ran a Half Marathon. After I crossed the finish line, within 5 mins, I fainted and my face took the brunt of it. I was taken by ambulance to the ER. I had concussion symptoms, a displaced orbital on my left eye (will need a metal plate), swollen eye / face and multiple stitches. In all that, my Epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire did not crack. The titanium bezel is all scratched up from the asphalt, but the glass remains unblemished. The last two days in the hospital, I was able to keep track of my vitals via the watch. Thank you Garmin for making a product that took the fall better than my face!

Moving up from the Fenix 3 HR. I am very please with enhanced metrics all around in the watch. The watch it self is lighter making it more comfortable to wear. Overall I am still getting used to the watch and features and looking forward to stay healthy.
