Four Star is made from German Steel and is such a terrific knife for cutting crusty breads. Like that it doesn't stain and looks as good as the when I bought it a year ago.

Everyone needs a good bread knife and this one fits the bill! The knives from the Four Star group are all very good, stay sharp, have a good full, straight bolster for more support and stay durable and stain-free. Slices through any breads, rolls, muffins, and even more!

This four star bread knife is beautifully serrated for an amazingly razor sharp cut that will last a life time. The steel that Zwilling uses is specially formulated to resist corrosion. The ice hardening process keeps the steel strong but flexible enough to resist chipping and cracking. The forged bolster is strong and sturdy with a comfortable handle.

Wonderful, sharp bread knife! I love using this in my house. It has a long bolster for finger protection and a comfortable handle. It cuts all breads like a charm.

Great for cutting sourdough

I love using this knife because it goes right through a large sourdough loaf of bread with ease, which is sometimes hard because it is very crusty on the outside, but fluffy on the inside, so you don't want to crush the bread. The handle is very comfortable and I can get good leverage on it.

Great bread knife!

My mom has had this bread knife for decades. I lost count of the years. She uses it almost everyday and it has never been sharpened and it still glides through crusty loaves, dense loaves, light and fluffy loaves. She never puts it in the dishwasher, so it looks like new. My dad and brother never took it out the garage to see if it could cut 'that wire' they were struggling with. I have pulled it out to use on heirloom tomatoes that are huge from the farmer's market; really ripe peaches, pears, plums sometimes too. Everything they say about the quality - well, this knife proves it.

I purchase this on the recommendation of my friend who is a professional chef. He starting using the Four Star line in Culinary School, and has not switched in 20 years.
The knife is so comfortable, and cuts through the crustiest of breads very easily. Love the serration which help cut not rip bread. Also a great tool for slicing angel food and sponge cakes without crushing.
This knife has a lifetime warranty so I know it has to be great quality, and that the company will stand behind this product. Will be purchasing additional knives for my collection without hesitation.
