When a friend said I should get a Nikiri, i asked "why?" Versatility, sharpness, a million uses, easy to handle. I was not totally convinced, so thought I would try the Gourmet version. Happy to say, pleasant surprise! It's all true and I use this much more than expected. Also great alternative to the Chef or Santoku.

This is a great workhorse for vegetables. Cleanly cuts through hard tough root vegetables as well as thinly slices cucumbers, potatoes and tomotoes.

Great Addition to any block

Nakari is a newer blade shape in the US (at least to me) so it's a perfect gift for someone who loves cooking and chopping and can appreciate a German made knife. It has a very sharp, wide blade that cuts through any vegetable with ease and is perfect for scooping into your bowl or pan. The handle is very comfortable, true to the traditional German knives. It's very light so hand fatigue is not an issue.

This is a great lightweight option for a German nakiri knife compared to other heavier German options. The handle has a great feel and the blade is sharp and durable. Best option for someone who prefers a lighter knife.

This is one of the coolest knives I have ever used! By far!! I love the flat surface, and the width of the blade, i can chop thru veggies and am convinced that I look like a pro! The knife stays sharper than I ever expected. Its hits that cutting board hard and many many times thru carrots, celery, parsley, and even cooked chicken! I use this so much more than I ever imagined. The handle is very comfortable and doesn't slip in your hands.
