[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What comes to mind when you first heard the name Zwilling? I’ve heard “the BMW of knives” or the “Hermes of knives” well the product lives up to every bit of its name. When you first unbox the knives, you jump with excitement, one that makes a little bit of pee drizzle out. When you first touch the handle, it feels like you are first laying hands on the partner of your dreams, the excitement continues to build. You take a moment to pause and enjoy the beauty of the engineering. The way the light reflects off the blades. You think about weather you want to even toss away it’s packaging, for you want to savor this first time you unpack the knives. You continue to Unwrap each knife slowly, as you don’t want this to end too quickly. You pause again to read each word of the protected knife packaging - no matter that the language is in German and you don’t understand each word. Still you stand there and pretend to comprehend. You slide each knife slowly into its block, careful not to poke the wood too hard fearful of damaging each tip. Even though these knives would be able to handle it. You take another moment to be in awe of its beauty, placed so magnificently on the counter. You start to imagine what kind of items you would use it for. But that moment is too far away. You think to yourself, do you even want to use it and contaminate the steel. You start to daydream about a YouTube show and putting these knives on full display. Prepping for a 5 star Michelin restraint. You get a little more excited. You stand there for several more minutes with your eyes glued to the knife block. The eyes drying up because you haven’t blinked. Not wanting to blink because you know that you must soon snap back to reality. Suddenly, your phone rings. Its your mom calling you about the knives because you sent her a picture just moments ago. You answer as you snap out of your trance. You take the knives and put them in its forever spot on the counter and tell yourself you’ll save that next phase for another day. It’s already too much excitement for the day.

Great knife block

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Knives arrived sharp and well made everything overall has been super positive the only super minor con relating to the product is the knife block hole sizes feel a bit random. Obviously the largest knives go in the largest gaps but for the pairing knives and bread knives the holes are typically too large and the knives sit a bit loose aesthetically.

I have been using Henckels knives for many, many years and have considered them to be a quality product. Unfortunately, this new knife set that I ordered came with a surprisingly dull edge, hence my 3 stars. I didn't think I would have look to purchase a sharpener on a new set, so I'm disappointed. New knives are usually razor sharp, with the last one that I purchased slicing so efficiently, I nearly injured myself. Nevertheless, the price was good.

This was a gift for a friend who cooks all the time. She had a terrible mix-matched set of kitchen knives and this set was a tremendous improvement. I’m considering a set myself but wish there was a store locally that carried all of the Zwilling models.
