A nakiri is a Japanese style knife used primarily for chopping vegetables. It is a thin blade that allows you to cut all the way through to the cutting board without having to us a horizontal push pull motion. The curved bolster provides a comfortable position for your thumb and forefinger to have the ultimate control. I love the perfectly balanced weight in each Pro series knife and the special steel is not only corrosion resistant but also retains its sharp edge longer and is chip and crack resistant.

I love this line because their knives are so balanced, and the curved bolster is perfect for a pinched grip. The Nakiri knife is wonderful for chopping!

Zwilling's proprietary, centuries-old "no-stain nor chip" German stainless steel is then used to create this Japanese vegetable cleaver. It rocks and chops. Also has 45 degree bolster to aid in the pinch grip for comfort.

Hefty yet very agile

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great, multi-use knife that feels like the 1st officer to the captain (which is my 8" chef's knife). The blade is thicker and the handle has heft, making it a workhorse for cutting such foods like pineapples, butternut squash and root vegetables. A beautiful and unique addition to a curated collection of everyday use knives!

Like Santoku Knives? You'll love a Nakiri
