[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well weighted, and easy to use for cutting vegetables. I first fell in love with a 5" Santoku knife, this one is certainly one ups the Santoku. Now I have two favorite vegetable cutting knives!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been oogling the Pro set of proper knives (western) and Asian knives. I really enjoy using this knife for chopping vegetables to herbs. makes everything much more fun with exceptional tools.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great, multi-use knife that feels like the 1st officer to the captain (which is my 8" chef's knife). The blade is thicker and the handle has heft, making it a workhorse for cutting such foods like pineapples, butternut squash and root vegetables. A beautiful and unique addition to a curated collection of everyday use knives!
I have wanted a Nakiri knife but I do not like the typical D shaped handle you find on them. I was already a fan of the Zwilling Pro line and was very excited when they added a Nakiri option. The German forged blade is super strong and easy to maintain like all Pro blades. The acute angle of the blade gives nice thin straight slices and chops. I love that it still has the curved bolster like the rest of the line for optimal comfort and encouragement of the proper holding of the knife.
I love using this knife to cut up vegetables because the wide blade makes it easy to chop and move food from the cutting board to the pan easily and with one trip. The handle is very comfortable to use and the metal is curved where the handles meets the blade so that I can grip the knife well.
Zwilling's proprietary, centuries-old "no-stain nor chip" German stainless steel is then used to create this Japanese vegetable cleaver. It rocks and chops. Also has 45 degree bolster to aid in the pinch grip for comfort.
This slightly modified version of an Asian chef, called a Nakiri, offers the versatility and flat cutting edge of Japanese cutlery while utilizing the best of German Cutlery. A tougher steel, the balanced weight, and the comfort of an ambidextrous handle make this blend of east meets west knife a winner.
I love this line because their knives are so balanced, and the curved bolster is perfect for a pinched grip. The Nakiri knife is wonderful for chopping!
