My go-to bread knife, and although identified as a ‘bread’ knife; not so much where it begins, not ends. As a former lunch service chef, most would have their chef knifes next then on the line, I would have my bread knife next to me on the line... they are diversified, I would do my prep with it (tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, etc.), and be able to cut through hot sandwiches with ease, and without squishing them. Presentation is everything, (so is perception), that’s why this masterpiece of a bread knife is highly recommended!

This is an "OH WOW!" bread knife

As we know Bob Kramer is a master knifesmith and he didn't hold back when designing this beautiful bread knife for the Euroline Collection. Although not made of gold the G in SG2 steel stands for "the gold standard" in steel for knives. It is super hard and will resist chipping and cracking. The SG2 core is wrapped in 100 additional layers of steel to create a signature damascus pattern. The black micarta handle has a wood grain appearance with none of the downfalls of wood like swelling and cracking. The unique serrated edge is as beautiful as it is effective.

When is a bread knife not just an ordinary bread knife? When it is this bread knife. The construction and the steel of this knife is exemplary, for sure. The beauty of the knife, from the Damascus-style blade to the Kramer signature oversized handle, are all there. But what makes this knife special to me is the design - the arch of the spine. It takes the motion and the angle of slicing bread into account so you cut through from the top crust to the bottom crust without rapping your knuckles, no matter what size loaf you're cutting. Bravo, Mr Kramer!

The most beautiful bread knife

This is the ultimate bread blade. This blade is long, making it perfect for a minimal number of slices on large pieces of bread, produce, and veggies. With the Kramer Damascus bread knife, you get an optimal blade that has 100 layers of SG2 steel that slices anything like butter. The beautiful design of the Chevron pattern and Micarta handle makes this a statement piece for any chef.

Impeccable detail and cutting edge. The length of this blade is ideal for cutting whole crusty breads, baguettes and brioche. The edge is so sharp, you will never shred the tender inside of a fresh loaf. The handle is classic Kramer. Slightly chunky, extremely comfortable to hold.

As part of our Bob Kramer Damascus set, we are so impressed. The beautiful, long blade along with the substantial handle. It's amazing. The serration is unique. Cuts through bread, tomatoes, fruit with little effort and little mess.
