I love using this pan for shallow frying, braising and baking. It's a great size for sticky buns! The innovative black matte interior allows for even heating, browning and great release of food. You will use less fat when cooking! Gorgeous color, tight fitting lid. Stove, to oven to table. great pot!

great for parties

I love using this dish for hot dips for parties. The enameled cast iron is easy to use and maintain. No seasoning required and it cleans easily with soap. The matte texture gives great browning. The natural properties of cast iron heat evenly and hold heat for a long time so it stays hot on the buffet. Its great to use both on the stovetop and in the oven.

Great round baker

This is an essential baker to have in any kitchen. This is the perfect round baker for all the desserts, as well as parker rolls, rice dishes, pasta, honestly any side dish. This is a great baker to incorporate cooking with the lid; Staub’s heavy lids help from preventing heat escaping, creating a vessel that will cook thoroughly. This is a great piece to have and the graphite color looks great!

Not Just for Pie

I bought this to use as a baker but to be honest I use it mainly for other cooking jobs.
The interior has Staub's famous black matte finish which sears beatifully. I use if for frying burgers and chicken breasts. I have also used it for quick stir frys. Oh and yes perfect for a pie crust, lid used to keep pie fresh!

Baking Beauty

I love the beautiful shiny finish on Staub; it such an eye catcher. But the inside is the real selling point with its black enamelling; it browns beautifully, keeps dishes hot and cleans up like a breeze.
This dish is perfect for a pie, but my favorite is any hot appetizer. You can begin your dish on the stove and finish it in the oven. Straight to the table for perfect serving!

What a gorgeous way to present individual servings of the most heart warming comfort foods. Excellent for make-ahead dishes. Chicken Cacciatore. Cassoulet. Japanese Kare. Prepare and portion. Pop in the oven for heating and finishing. Roasting vegetables and even rice side dishes do very well in this pan. And for dessert, just pull out a favorite recipe. The heat management properties of cast iron can't be beat.

I love the Staub round covered cast iron line baking dishes for their versatility and great looks! Just a personal preference for family and friend gatherings. I like how they look on the table, and how easily they go from the oven to the table. These are good for hot, cold, and room temperate dishes and are so easy to clean!
