The knife was very sharp but for a knife marketed as dishwasher safe I didn't expect it to be rusting after two cycles.

While some of our knives are labeled dishwasher safe, we generally recommend hand washing and drying promptly after use to help preserve the blade’s finish and prevent moisture-related discoloration. High heat, prolonged moisture exposure, and certain detergents used in dishwashers can sometimes contribute to spotting or surface rust. I love Zwilling Knives. I have the Professional S series and love them. This Four Star knife was received as a promotion through Hello Fresh. I gave this knife to my Grandson, who is in the culinary program at his high school. He said that he likes it. Now he can leave my knives alone.
