This little cocotte is so versatile. Its black matte finish on the inside of the pan allows for better browning, braising, and roasting. The heat capability is amazing, and it will stay hot for hours. I use these for individual mashed potato servings. I can prep them ahead of time and heat in the oven.

Good size for pot pie

These round cocottes come in a variety of sizes, all of which roast, boil, bake, fry, braise and simmer to the highest possible standards. This size is terrific things like pot pie, a hearty portion of soup stew, cooking rice and legumes.
If you like cast iron comforting reliability of cast iron cooking then why not have a pot in every side. Cooking for 1, or 2, or 3 or 20, it’s all so easy in Staub's beautifully crafted pots. The workmanship and the quality of the cast iron ensure that the heat is directed to the food. The fine enamel finish - inside and out - make for attractive presentation at the table, and easy clean up afterwards. Enjoy each size as you use them. I do.

Great size for warming up leftovers for 1, or doing a small portion for soup, chili or stew. Heats quickly and evenly for a quick lunch or snack. Nice carry handles to transport to table and then to frig.

great pot to warm up food and even cook

This small pot does the all around job - great for warming up food and cooking. Warms up a single serving or cook a single serving. Finally found a way to cook those frozen green beans - little olive oil, cook a little onion and garlic then add one cup frozen green beans stir on med heat till they lose the frosted look then cover on low heat for 10 min. then done to perfection.
