Great 4 piece set

This is a great set if you need some solid paring knives at an affordable price. The colors are fun too. Great to take on road trips or to have at the beach for lunches or to use for slicing and peeling fruit for festive cocktails.

Enjoying our first sharpening knife block

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The knives are consistent for their use they work well. I’m very excited to see how they
Continue to work with the sharpening block. That’s a first for me and my spouse. We have had young children and especially naughty young one that are more mature and feel like a block would be worth trying. Especially when I found this set at a (now) affordable price. It’s a great set to start with I also purchased the paring knife set with colorful handles made in Spain as well, so knowing the standard without the block and with the block is going to be seen and of course if I’m unhappy I will be back to update but I have a feeling I won’t need to be.

Thesis: Every House Needs A Set Of These Knives

Love love love!!! Can’t begin to list the chores these cheap (cost) knives can do! The quality is unparalleled (as in most bang for your $£€¥). Peeling off tomato skin without dropping them in hot water is always my first test of a paring knife. The little birds beak knife (blue handle) is superb for one, or a dozen, tomatoes. You don’t have to switch to your big chef’s knife to chop them up, either. Use the utility knife and WOW!!! Bob’s your uncle and you have two new best friends!!! Not to worry, the last two knives are as useful and magnificently sharp as their names are advertised. The 3 inch Japanese paring knife is more comfortable for me (vertically challenged mini) and gets a great deal of use as a cheese and cracker snack knife for me, and an every thing else that is not a hard veg (butternut squash, has anyone ever not needed a hatchet for those things?) for my children. Speaking of those, I am buying each a set of their own. You would not believe how many times I’ve found my little plastic handled knives in THEIR HOUSE!!!! The last knife of the set is a standard 4” European paring and peeling knife. So very sharp and does everything I need it to do. Peeling potato skins and fruit skins with little to no effort on my part. I have mastered (as in, I leave more flesh than I take away) the very fine art of peeling an apple. I suggest everyone experiment with this knife until you are a Master, yourself! Until then, you will be eating a lot of applesauce. Worth every single bite, as eating your mutilated and butchered fruits is required. You don’t want your mother in law to know how long it really took you to surpass her flawless skill of leaving a whole ribbon of peel, with all the flesh left behind. And, apparently, it’s also very scientific and sounds very smart when you attempt to explain that brain-hand-memory hypothesis thingy going on in your head, unbeknownst to you, of course, as you become……. a MASTER. Dum de dum!!!! (Do you also hear a drum roll and explosion of cymbals at the end of your long, run on sentences explaining how much you love “this “ or “that”? Yes! I knew I was not the only one!)
Excellent. Worth. Every. Cent!!!

Great Value

Four knives to use for everyday simple tasks or throw them in a picnic basket, send them off to college, or pack them up for vacation. The red one is my pb&j knife; it spreads the peanut butter without tearing the bread, but its serrated edge can cut perfect triangles for grandbabies lunches. Green and yellow can handle any small fruit or veggie. The blue is my second favorite; perfect for hulling strawberries or deveining shrimp.
It's also a good way to "trial run" a new blade shape you've never used before. You may find your new favorite knife.

NOT made in Germany anymore
on August 22, 2020

I have an older set of these knives made in Germany, the difference in quality is too great. These are made in Spain now - plastic handle is lighter and shorter, the blade is thiner and too flexible, so the balance is lost. They are still very sharp, but handling is not safe anymore.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
