Great size for rice, or any number of dishes for one. I have a small kitchen and live alone, so I do not usually need a large pot or pan for preparing meals. This size is perfect for me.

Akin to a 1qt saucepan, this small cocotte makes for the perfect morning oat cooker. The cast iron distributes and retains heat at the ideal temperature resulting in expertly cooked oatmeal.

Adorable little cast iron piece. So fun for small side dishes, rice, dessert or a hot appetizer, like a cheese dip. The cast iron heat up evenly and retains it heat for serving. Easy to clean up too.

Like this little cocotte alot. I use it to melt butter when we're have crab or lobster and warm one for each person. Stays nice and hot for dipping your fish in.

Perfect for Side Dishes

The heat capability of this little cocotte is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly, also stays hot for hours. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - nothing dries out and the food stays moist. We use this pan for vegetable side dishes almost daily. My son uses it exclusively to heat up his soup lunches - he says it heats up fast and hot!.

These round cocottes come in a variety of sizes, all of which roast, boil, bake, fry, braise and simmer to the highest possible standards. Cast iron cooking has been around for millennia and there is a reason. It is the ultimate for low slow cooking. Put the pot on the fire come back hours later and the food is done.
So if you like cast iron comforting reliability of cast iron cooking then why not have a pot in every side. Cooking for 1, or 2, or 3 or 20, it's all so easy in Staub's beautifully crafted pots. The workmanship and the quality of the cast iron ensure that the heat is directed to the food. The fine enamel finish - inside and out - make for attractive presentation at the table, and easy clean up afterwards. Enjoy each size as you use them. I do.
