You will not store this little guy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I agonized between the dark navy blue and the Graphite (to match my 5.5qt Cocotte), only because dark navy blue is my favorite color. I did finally go with the Graphite so that my Cocotte had a matching friend. This is the best petite French oven that you can get and you will find yourself using it for everything. I've made steel cut oats, wheat berries, rice, sauces, soups, pasta, everything in this adorable little French oven. It is petite at 1 3/4qt, but it is deep so that you can fit a lot and easily stir what you are cooking or reheating. I find myself reaching for my petite oven more than I expected, it has become my favorite cookware to use. Also, it is super easy to clean with soap and water at the sink. You will use this over and over throughout the week!

Adorable little French petite oven is perfect for side dishes of any kind. Amazing heat capability - heats quickly, evenly and stays hot for hours. I love to use it to bake desserts in, especially cobblers. My son heats soup in it, really its quite versatile.

Such a great little dutch oven

I love a french aesthetic in any kitchen and this looks perfect with that! The Staub Petite French oven is a great size for a smaller crowd and is perfect for making an amazing pot of rice or risotto. Also with it having the spikes on the heavy lid, it helps keep your food from drying out. A great piece of enameled cast iron cookware.

This Petite French oven conical bottom shape allows stirring and mixing effortless. It is perfect for cooking small portion soup and sauce. To my surprise, this petite French oven is a perfect rice cooker and even great deep frying small food.
A daily pot for casual meals or sumptuous suppers. Slightly shallow but still has a good food space.
Compare to cocotte lids features tiny spikes on the interior, this French oven has chistera lid for excellent self-basting properties.
Chistera lid performs the same functionality, that continually release condensed liquid back onto the food, yielding moist, flavorful results.
It does make a difference food taste wise, efficiency-saves gas and you can serve your delicious dish straight to your table without the need to use another dish.
Compatible with gas, induction, ceran, halogen, and electric cooktops.

The perfect size for rice and many people do use it as their rice cooker. It come out perfectly due to the tight fitting cast iron lid and the Christera drop-structure lid which drops all the moisture back down into the vessel. It is what keeps dishes moist and results in the perfect consistancy.
