This is a really cool knife! I can use it like my chef knife because there is a decent curve to the blade but the back half of the blade is fairly flat for easy chopping. It had those lovely little hollow spots that release food easily. The handle on the 4 star is so comfortable, its smooth all the way around with no corners and is very non slip as well. Great deal on a great new style knife!

This knife is the perfect combination of the wide blade of a santoku knife and the curve of a chef's knife to make it easy to keep the tip of the knife on the cutting board so that I can keep my cuts more uniform. The ovals on the side of the blade helps vegetables from sticking the blade.

new addition to my forever set

I have been using Zwilling Four Star knives for years. I am so happy that they are standing by their design and still adding pieces to it. I love this new shape. Its a cross between my chefs knife and santoku. The curved shape is great for slicing and mincing. It makes quick work of my chopped salads. All the classic Four Star features are there as well. The high carbon forged German stainless steel stays nice and sharp and is easy to maintain. The comfort grip on the handle is my favorite part.

This is a great knife to have in one’s kitchen. It is now my go-to knife. I sliced open a watermelon without struggling, which was one of the reasons I purchased the Santoku. It’s also great for chopping herbs and garlic, but you do need to clean the blade as you go along. In all, I’m enamored with this knife and pleased with my purchase.

Great for fruit and vegetable work

This is my go to knife when I'm slicing and chopping fruits and vegetables. The air pockets along the cutting edge prevent product from stacking up on the blade. Fruits and vegetables pieces slide off easily, they don't stack up like they do on a regular chef knife.
