I use my santoku as much as I use my chef knife; it can be used on meat, poulty and vegetables. The hollowed out grooves on the blade, called grantons, keep food from sticking to the blade. The handle is comfortable and is secure in my hand thanks to the sandblasted finish. Lightweight, sharp and durable!

great look and feel

This is a great knife. Not only does it look cool, it performs very well. The solid steel construction is sturdy and comfortable to hold. The blade is very sharp and is easy to maintain. The slim blade profile gives thin accurate slices and cuts.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The stainless steel is modern and sleek. The handle is comfortable and surprisingly lightweight. The santoku is great for slicing paper thin cucumbers or julienning carrots.

Good Forged Knife

Forged from German steel gives this knife great edge retention and a really nice weight and balance. It's super sharp blade chops through onions and carrots with great precision, making it the perfect go-to knife day in and day out. I love the brushed handle; even when wet, it has a little grab that keeps it from being slippery.
I generally hand wash all my knives, but it's nice to know it's dishwasher safe.

I like the sleek and modern look to this Modernist series of knives. It is lightweight, feels good in my hand and has the hollow edge so food doesn't stick to the blade! The handle is slightly curved, so gives me a stable grip, even though it is stainless steel. Cleans easily by hand, even though it is dishwasher safe!

This 7 inch hollow edge santoku knife has a fully forged bolster which helps increase durability. It is great for chopping, dicing, mincing, etc. The handle is very comfortable and the blade is sharp, while boasting a beautiful modern look. Great value!

Very modern looking Santoku with a stainless steel handle that has been textured for an easy grip. Well balanced with a sharp edge this knife will become the work horse in the kitchen.
