Definitely get one!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this knife and Miyabi but my biggest complaint is all the unnecessary information printed on the left side of their blades it just detracts from the knife and almost ruins it

This birchwood 6 inch chef knife is very exquisite. It has a beautiful handle the provides a great grip and a blade made from SG2 steel. It is extremely durable and stays true to sharpness of a Japanese blade.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I fell in love with this Miyabi line the first time I picked one up. Miyabi Birchwood is a beautifully hand-crafted and made of the one of the best steels for kitchen knives. The smooth birchwood handle fits my hand perfectly; and the inset emblem is an elegant touch. But the part I really love is the blade. The exquisite flower patterned blades belie their hardness, their ability to keep an edge, their gleam. What a joy.
I usually don't use a 6-inch slicing knife, but I grabbed it one day to skin a melon. it was terrific. I'm busy finding new uses for this knife everyday. I expect to enjoy this knife for a lifetime.

Great Japanese utility blade

I love this knife. The blade is beautiful, with 100 layers of SG2 steel, it is an amazing piece of art, and it slices so smoothly, like butter. The birchwood handle feels so nice in hand, and looks perfect with the blade. This knife is perfect for slicing fish, meat, fruit. Miyabi makes wonderful and durable Japanese knives.

This Miyabi Birchwood utility knife is as functional as it is beautiful. The birchwood handle is sensitive to moisture so be sure when you are cleaning your knife to not expose it to water or moisture for too long. Other than that, the durable Damascus blade will stay sharp for a really long time and the overall balance of the knife ensure plenty of comfort when using.

This is an amazing size and style. Every detail is as expected from a Miyabi knife. Superior quality and attention to detail. super sharp and durable. The birchwood handle is rounded and comfortable. I use this for slicing longer vegetables and fruits such as eggplant and squash. If you want to slice an onion paper thin without shedding a tear..this is the knife for you!
