The picture really doesn't do this knife justice. The blade is gorgeous with 133 layers and an edge that can cut the thinnest slices imaginable yet feels light in the hand and has a perfect balance. The Black Ash handle is not only stunning but feels great in both a right handed as well as a left handed cook.

Everybody needs a great bread knife if you're slicing through loaves of fresh, crusty bread. It's a game changer! No smashing or tearing, just perfect slices every time.
Miayabi Black is made from MC66 steel which is extremely hard and will result in incredible sharpness and edge retention. The 132 layer Damascus design and the dark wood handle make it a stunning knife to have in your kitchen. Hand crafted in Japan, it truly is the ultimate knife to own.

The Miyabi Black series knives are not for everyone but if you're looking for an incredible Japanese knife this would be the right choice. The core is made of MC66 steel which is the hardest steel available. This means the razor sharp edge will remain that way use after use. The core is wrapped in an impressive 132 additional layers of steel to make the damascus pattern. The Black Ash used to make the handle is the highest quality. The serration is designed to puncture the crust of the bread and continue through the soft part with out crushing it.

Miyabi never disappoints! This 9.5" bread knife will stay sharp and last a lifetime. The 133 layers of Damascus steel is always stunning to see, and stays durable and rust free. Ice-hardened so stays looking great and performing perfectly for years.

Miyabi Black is wonderful line within the Miyabi collection of Japanese kitchen knives. The extra length is a real bonus and the damascus finish really catches your eye. True Japanese cuisine may not involve bread but this knife works well with fruits or vegetables with a rind or a tough outer skin. The serration works nicely on western style crusty bread too, to reflect its name.

This serrated edge bread knife is nice and long. It is perfect for big large crusty boules and supersize heirloom tomatoes. Plus it is tough and it is hard. It will stand up to hours of work and hold an edge for months on end. That's because it has 133 layers of super-premium steel, ice hardened to 66 on the Rockwell. All that means to me is that I love cutting with every one of these knives. It is effortless. It makes my strokes elegant and I easily get into a rhythm when I am using a Miyabi Black. I love this line!
