No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Knife block is a bit large, but it's because it needs to hold the steak knives. Will probably store it sidewise on the counter unless actively using the blades. Wood on the knife block looks and feels nice.

Effortless Cutting but Requires Extra Care

This knives set makes a wonderful addition to any kitchen, especially for newlyweds like my wife & I. The blades are very sharp, offering precise cuts with minimal effort (for an intermediate level cook like myself). Their lightweight build makes frequent use a breeze, which is really crucial when prepping for big family dinners or just day in/day out cooking for a spouse. However, they do have a downside—susceptibility to rust. While durable in many ways, extra care is needed to keep them in optimal condition. Overall, a solid 4/5 stars for these high-performing yet not completely spotless kitchen essentials.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Knives seem very nice. Block could of been a bit more planned in evenness of the steak knives & the scissors slot is sloppy. otherwise seems to be very well made knives just not crazy about the sloppy uneven slots & placements.
